tomorrow i'm getting my archive fixed. sorry the comic was late, initially screwed up the math on my graphic and had to redo it. i'm pretty sure it's right but gathering data on how often rape's reported is extremely difficult. i mainly wanted to point out that their 10% number does not come from their supposed source, hmic.gov.uk reports a 35% number on bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/pub/press/vnrp0610pr.cfm while their source for their false accusations says 2-8% of rape allegations are false yet rather than averaging that to 5% as i did, they stuck with 2% making the data even more suspect. i realize this is a touchy issue, and it's extremely sensitive and even portraying the data more accurately doesn't make it less depressing, but if you want to reduce victims to statistics instead of taking a case by case look at the pain they suffered and what can be done to change that from happening, the least you can do is report such statistics accurately based on the sources you cite.
