When I click the RSS button, i get a page of hypertext, not asked which reader I want to use to subscribe.

i assume you're using chrome, and well, that's chrome for you. as my page isn't built by google there's nothing i can do. i can tell you to switch browsers (which i doubt you have much interest in doing) or hope google resolves the issue at some point. but it's a well documented issue with the chrome browser.
if you're using a different browser i can maybe look into it. but i write all the code myself, and to my knowledge that means i can't code rss feeds for chrome. if you know someone who can do that, that could be helpful as honestly i'm not the most familiar with how rss should work, but i think it looks normal under firefox, explorer, and safari (less sure about opera as i haven't actually tested opera, but i've never noticed compatability differences between opera and safari (though i'm sure there are some)). just have issues with chrome.
